Jan Stoop is an expert in corporate law and mergers & acquisitions. He services his domestic and international client base on complex corporate law issues and transactions, with a particular focus on venture capital and private equity. Having been working for 5 years in a Belgian law firm with a focus on tax matters, Jan has developed a strong tax driven, cross departmental approach of all corporate matters.
Jan Stoop also acts as lead counsel for some major clients for all of their day-to-day business law issues. He has thereby assisted clients in the drafting and negotiating of a variety of commercial contracts, mastering all aspects of business law.
Prior to co-founding Cadanz in 2008, Jan Stoop was a senior associate in the corporate and finance department of a leading Belgian law firm.
Jan Stoop graduated from the law faculty of the University of Leuven in 1995. He subsequently obtained a Special Degree in Economic Law at the University of Brussels (Université Libre de Bruxelles) in 1997. Since the fall of 1997, Jan has been practicing law at the Brussels’ bar.
